The Jax Food Truck Food Court and Jacksonville Restaurant Reviews are teaming up with Academy Sports on December 5th to host the JFTFC fourth food truck rally of the year. A percentage of the proceeds of this rally will go to help Foster Closet, a local organization providing clothing, toys, and necessities to foster children as they enter their new homes. The event will be hosted from 11am until 4pm in the parking lot of Academy Sports at 11901 Atlantic Boulevard and will have popular Jacksonville food trucks, a kids play zone, and a cash bar.
The truck line up:
The Happy Grilled Cheese: People’s choice for best food truck in all four major Jacksonville publications. Take it cheesy with their Daddy of the Mac and loaded cheese fries.
Fusion Food Truck: Chef Ashley Amin (winner of top Indian chef in San Diego) brings the best Indian cuisine in Jacksonville. Don’t miss their award winning banana curry and tikka masala!
Butt Hutt Smokehouse: Jacksonville’s newest BBQ truck with housemade sauces and melt in your mouth bbq. Their brisket with coconut curry mustard is our favorite!
Le Petite Cheri Cupcakery: Who doesn’t love cupcakes? Le Petite Cheri raises the bar with seasonal flavor combinations and fresh toppings. Their desserts are rich and decadent, just how we like them! Also don’t miss their fresh made raspberry lemonade!
Delish Kebabs: Authentic and award winning Brazilian charcoal grilled kebabs. Their bacon wrapped chicken was the winner of the 2014 Food Truck Wars! Don’t miss their yuca fries either.
Bold City Pops: Locally sourced seasonal popsicles showcasing unique combinations of Florida’s finest ingredients. Adults and children will both love this!
Cuban Fire Grill: Authentic, slow cooked, homemade cuban cuisine featuring Cuban sandwiches, lechon asado, ropa vieja, and flan for dessert. We have never had anything we didn’t like from Cuban Fire Grill!
Danilo’s Famous Lumpia: It’s called famous for a reason. These Filipino treats are cooked fresh to order every time and are stuffed with beef, vegetables, and spices. Try their dessert turron too – sweet banana lumpia with your choice of toppings.
Son of a Butcher: Jacksonville’s best authentic philly, and we really can’t disagree. Son of a Butcher prepares fresh sandwiches, poboys, tacos, and more absolutely loaded with meats and cheeses. Looking for a hearty meal? This is your choice!
Island Dream: One of Jacksonville’s newest food trucks, Island Dream features creamy Italian ice and lemonades. We tried them at JFTFC’s last rally and fell in love with these delicious sweet treats.
Bone Daddy’s Voodoo Cajun: Finallly, authentic cajun food in Jacksonville! Bone Daddy’s makes all their food from scratch every day in their bus. Their muffaletta is one of our favorite sandwiches around. Don’t leave without a few orders of beignets!
Front Porch Kettle Corn: This truck has the best snacks around! Fresh made sweet and savory popcorn, mouth watering spicy pork rinds, and southern sweet tea. Take home a few containers to snack on later, you will thank us!
Hapa Li: This food truck took Jax by storm a few months ago and hasn’t slowed down since. Tender pulled pork, chicken, and their signature spamiyaki burger give us on the mainland a taste of paradise!
Latin Soul Grille: This truck’s fusion of latin, caribbean, spanish, and bbq makes for an irresistible menu. We could eat their chicken tacos and wings every day!
Mother Truckin Pizza: This Jax favorite serves jumbo pizza slices with fresh toppings and tons of melt in your mouth cheese, oven fired subs, soft pretzels, and delicious cheesy bread. Their deluxe slice and Italian sausage sub can’t be beat! Want a treat? Try their toasted ravioli!
Sweeto Burrito: It’s easy to see why Sweeto has so many dedicated followers, their burritos are the best in town! Be prepared to share, these are HUGE! The White Chick, Buff Chick, and Rise and Shiner are our personal recommendations!
Von Zipper: Owner Eric von Zipper brings his passion for authentic mexican flavors to the Jacksonville food truck scene. His tacos and quesadillas are packed with fresh flavors. We highly recommend the slow simmered pork shoulder. Their black beans are also not to be missed!
Blue Pacific Taco: Chef Izzy Tahil brings globally inspired flavors and holds true to their motto “Fresh Ingredients – Globe Tripping Flavors”. The Jamaican Jerk Pork and Mango Salsa is a great flavor example of what Blue Pacific brings to the Jax truck scene.
