The Jax Food Truck Food Court’s first food truck rally of 2016 is upon us! Join us on Saturday, January 16th for one of the biggest food truck rallies to date at Academy Sports and Outdoors on Atlantic Boulevard. The rally will be held from 11 am – 4 pm and portions of the proceeds will benefit The HealthyUNow Foundation for children with autism. Aside from excellent cuisine for a fantastic cause, there will be bounce houses, face painting, henna tattoos, a cash bar, and a silent auction. There will also be a Chili Cook-off with a People’s Choice Award!
Here is the truck line up:
The Happy Grilled Cheese: People’s choice for best food truck in all four major Jacksonville publications. Take it cheesy with their Daddy of the Mac and loaded cheese fries and a comforting, made from scratch daily tomato soup! You’re also not going to want to miss their “Happy Ending” brownie layered with cream cheese.
Front Porch Kettle Corn: Start your food truck rally adventure here for an appetizer! Fresh made sweet and savory popcorn, mouth watering spicy pork rinds, and southern sweet tea. Take home a few containers to snack on later – you will thank us!
Butt Hutt Smokehouse: One of Jacksonville’s newer BBQ trucks with housemade sauces and melt in your mouth bbq. Butt Hutt takes bbq to a gourmet level. Their brisket with coconut curry mustard is our favorite!
Cuban Fire Grill: Authentic, slow cooked, homemade cuban cuisine featuring Cuban sandwiches, lechon asado, ropa vieja, and flan for dessert. We have never had anything we didn’t like from Cuban Fire Grill!
Delish Kebabs: Authentic and award winning Brazilian charcoal grilled kebabs. Their bacon wrapped chicken was the winner of the 2014 Food Truck Wars! Don’t miss their yuca fries either.
Le Petite Cheri Cupcakery: Who doesn’t love cupcakes? Le Petite Cheri raises the bar with seasonal flavor combinations and fresh toppings. Their desserts are rich and decadent, just how we like them! Also don’t miss their fresh made raspberry lemonade!
Danilo’s Famous Lumpia: It’s called famous for a reason. These Filipino treats are cooked fresh to order every time and are stuffed with beef, vegetables, and spices. Try their dessert turron too – sweet banana lumpia with your choice of toppings.
Island Dream: One of Jacksonville’s newest food trucks, Island Dream features creamy Italian ice and lemonades. We tried them at JFTFC’s last rally and fell in love with these delicious sweet treats. Their Oreo Funnel Fries are the perfect choice for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Bone Daddy’s Voodoo Cajun: Finally – authentic cajun food in Jacksonville! Bone Daddy’s makes all their food from scratch every day in their bus. Their muffaletta is one of our favorite sandwiches around. Don’t leave without a few orders of beignets!
Kona Ice: Every flavor of shaved ice under the sun plus fresh ice cream equals a crowd pleaser for sure. Kona has become particularly popular with the kids in Jacksonville, so expect for them to recognize this brightly colored truck and run to pick out their favorite flavor!
Hapa Li: This food truck took Jax by storm a few months ago and hasn’t slowed down since. Tender pulled pork, chicken, and their signature spamiyaki burger give us on the mainland a taste of paradise! Specialty items spam musubi and dessert haupia can’t be found anywhere else.
Latin Soul Grille: This truck’s fusion of Latin, Caribbean, Spanish, and BBQ makes for an irresistible menu. We could eat their chicken tacos and wings every day! Try their speciality empanadas for a real treat.
Chubby Burrito: New to the Jacksonville food truck scene, Chubby Burrito specializes in authentic Mexican style street food. All food is freshly prepared daily and focuses on simple, authentic flavors. The carne asada street tacos are a can’t miss order.
Fusion Food Truck: Chef Ashley Amin (winner of top Indian chef in San Diego) brings the best Indian cuisine in Jacksonville. We highly recommend their award winning banana curry and tikka masala paired with a decadent Thai tea.
Mother Truckin Pizza: This Jax favorite serves jumbo pizza slices with fresh toppings and tons of melt in your mouth cheese. They also offer oven fired subs, soft pretzels, and delicious cheesy bread. Their deluxe slice and Italian sausage sub can’t be beat! Want a treat? Try their toasted ravioli!
Sweeto Burrito: It’s easy to see why Sweeto has so many dedicated followers – their burritos are the best in town! Be prepared to share, these are HUGE! The White Chick, Buff Chick, and Rise and Shiner are our personal recommendations!
Wrap It Up: Fresh, healthy wraps and salads with Moroccan flair. The wraps are pressed on a panini press so all the delicious vegetables and fresh meats melt perfectly together. Wrap it Up also offers great vegan options too! Order ahead on their website for pick up.
Berry Good Farms: Focusing on your New Year’s Resolution? Berry Good Farms grows their own veggies and prepares fresh and delicious salads and wraps. Their organization is also a staple of the Jacksonville community and gives back by employing Jacksonville School Board sponsored special needs children and teaching them how to cook and grow their own food.
Blue Pacific Tacos: Award winning tacos including the unique ribeye bulgogi tacos, sriracha beef, and Malaysian satay. Blue Pacific’s bold flavors can’t be found elsewhere! The owner Izzy has travelled the world to hone his culinary skills and brings globe trippin’ flavors to Jacksonville.
Bold City Pops: Locally sourced seasonal popsicles showcasing unique combinations of Florida’s finest ingredients. Few things showcase Florida flavors better than Bold City Pops. Adults and children will both love this!
Julie’s Sweet Stuff: Cupcakes, brownies, bundt cakes, cookies, and more! Julie’s Sweet Stuff covers the spectrum on treats no matter what dessert you’re craving. The freshest ingredients wait for you too and are proudly “grandkid approved” from the owner’s own taste-testers.
Muzzi’s Madhouse: Come hungry to order Muzzi’s, these tremendous portions of Chicago style comfort food will leave you ready for a nap. Their homemade gorgonzola chips with balsamic vinegar, chicken parm subs, and meatball subs are our favorites!
Son of a Butcher: Jacksonville’s best authentic philly, and we really can’t disagree. Son of a Butcher prepares fresh sandwiches, poboys, tacos, and more absolutely loaded with meats and cheeses. Looking for a hearty meal? This is your choice!
Wauga Wauga: Gourmet fusion cuisine with fresh ingredients and creative flavor combinations. It took 15 years to perfect these recipes and that dedication shows. Particularly well known with beach locals, Wauga Wauga has quite a following of their unique fusion dishes. We love their corn tacos and fajitas!
Salty Dog: Here is your taste of Americana, everyone! Salty Dog focuses on giant beef hot dogs and burgers. There is also a bacon wrapped deep fried hot dog, so take a breath and prepare yourself for that. Menu items are served with their delicious and popular waffle fries which are available topped with hearty, cheesy chili.
Belle of the Boulevard: In between food courses, catch up with the hottest fashions on the go! Gorgeous clothes bought directly out of LA and Miami and accessories galore. Pick up something for yourself or a gift for a special someone!
