3Moms Ice Cream is a fun, family-friendly ice cream truck based out of Jacksonville Beach. 3Moms started up in 2012 with the goal of being a neighborhood ice cream truck, but over time they’ve grew into much more than that. 3Moms Ice Cream Truck stays busy with tons of private events and functions, as well as festivals around town.
I love that 3Moms is a wholesome family business run by three actual moms. Their goal is to provide people with a nostalgic family-friendly ice cream experience, but with some healthier options than we might have had when we were kids. Adding to that nostalgia is the truck itself. The truck is an original 1972 Good Humor truck, which definitely contributes to that quirky, retro feel.
The truck is fun and whimsical and makes me (a bonafide “grownup”) want to chase it down the street for an ice cream sandwich.
3Moms Ice Cream Truck has something for pretty much everyone. They offer classic ice cream truck fare like Italian ices, snocones, ice cream sandwiches, and pushups. They also have dairy free, gluten free, vegan, and organic choices for the more health-conscious among us. I appreciate the fact that they offer some all-natural, lower sugar options for those times when I don’t want to load my kids up with tons of sugar. And the great thing is that those healthier options are still delicious!! Plus, unlike most other ice cream trucks around, 3Moms carries a wide array of kosher treats too. All of there sweet treats range anywhere from $.50 up to around $3.00. So grab your loose change and track them down!
We actually caught up with them at a really fun kids’ event hosted by Community First and the Jacksonville Moms Blog. This summer, those two have teamed up and are “park hopping” all over town to explore some of Jacksonville’s awesome parks. We joined in the fun at their park play date at 9A Baymeadows Regional Park this past Tuesday. It was a blistering hot day and we were so glad to have 3Moms Ice Cream Truck there with some sweet treats to help us cool off.
We tried the Mango Fruit Pop, which had great mango flavor without being overly sweet. The youngest in our group loved it and dove right into it…literally. Melty Mango Fruit Pop everywhere. But it was worth it because it was so tasty. And I felt good sharing my treat with the kids because it was organic!
We also had the Dark Chocolate Pop. This was really good. It was made with coconut milk, so again I felt good giving it to the kiddos. I love that 3Moms offers some decently healthy ice cream options. This one was creamy and chocolatey but not too rich. For being gluten free and vegan, it was delicious! I actually probably wouldn’t have even known it was gluten free and vegan if it had not been notated on the menu board.
My kids love it when I treat them to an ice cream truck treat. Our 3Moms Ice Cream Truck experience was awesome. I can’t wait to catch them around town again and try some more of what they have to offer. I’ve heard great things about some of their more unique and adventurous choices like their Key Lime Sandwich, Salted Caramel Sandwich, and Mississippi Mudd Sandwich. We can also look forward to their next endeavor, which is working on their own line of 3Moms ice cream. I am so eager to seeing what fun and healthy treats they come up with. Until then, keep some pocket change handy and keep an eye out for 3Moms Ice Cream Truck.
