National Donut Day is upon us, and a local donut spot is using the day to help others. The Mini Bar is teaming up with BEAM (Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry) to stock the pantry shelves of local residents.
On Friday, June 1, bring a canned food item to The Mini Bar in exchange for a chance to win free coffee and donuts for a year as well as other raffle items including gift cards and merchandise. All donations collected for the food drive will be donated to BEAM. BEAM serves low income residents in Jacksonville’s beaches communities and operates two food pantries, one in Jacksonville Beach and one in Mayport.
“Initiatives like the canned food drive for BEAM are part of the reason we started The Mini Bar,” said Chase Sams, co-owner of the Mini Bar. “We wanted a way to give back to the community, and donuts and coffee are our platform. The better we do, the more we are able to give,” he added.
Exclusive donut flavors are available by pre-order through their website, www.minibardonuts.com/gear. The shop will also be offering free drip coffees with any purchase to anyone who visits on National Donut Day, Friday, June 1 from 7 am – 5 pm.
