Are you already missing all the great food you had at the food truck rally last weekend? Don’t fear! We have another rally this weekend at The Landing and it is benefiting a great cause. Join the Jax Food Truck Food Court on Saturday, July 23rd, at The Landing from 11-4 pm for 15 food trucks, kids play zone with bounce houses, a cash bar, live entertainment, and a fashion truck! This event is part of the larger Rubber Ducks and Food Trucks event that will consist of a HUGE Rubber Duck Race and silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the HealthyUNow Foundation for Autism. The trucks will be donating a portion of their proceeds to HealthyUNow as well, so make sure to bring the whole family! Here is your truck lineup for this weekend:
The Happy Grilled Cheese: People’s choice for best food truck in all four major Jacksonville publications. Take it cheesy with their Daddy of the Mac and loaded cheese fries! If dessert is on the menu for the day, the s’mores melt filled with marshmallow fluff and Ghiradelli chocolate is where it’s at. Pro tip: you can add macaroni and cheese to any sandwich, it is excellent on the California Melt!
Catullo’s Italian: Where we do we start with Catullo’s? Handmade daily pastas, thin crust pizzas, and specialty ‘sangwiches’ make this the best Italian food in Jax. Each scratch made sauce that is paired with their tender pastas is packed full of flavor and fresh ingredients to make for one romantic food experience. This truck will sweep you away to Italy and you’re never going to want to come back, trust me.
Chubby Burrito: New to the Jacksonville food truck scene, Chubby Burrito specializes in authentic Mexican style street food. All food is freshly prepared daily and focuses on simple, authentic flavors. The carne asada street tacos are a can’t miss order. Oh, and did we mention there are churros?!
Le Petite Cheri Cupcakery: Who doesn’t love cupcakes? Le Petite Cheri raises the bar with seasonal flavor combinations and fresh toppings. Their desserts are rich and decadent, just how we like them! With flavors ranging from fresh fruit filled cupcakes to the most deliciously rich chocolates, you will need 6 not 1! Also don’t miss their fresh made raspberry lemonade!
Fusion Food Truck: Chef Ashley Amin (winner of top Indian chef in San Diego) brings the best Indian cuisine in Jacksonville. We highly recommend their award winning banana curry and tikka masala paired with a decadent Thai tea. If sambosas are on the dessert menu, you’ll definitely want to have one or ten! Really, we love everything on Fusion’s menu, so order liberally.
Front Porch Kettle Corn: Start your food truck rally adventure here for an appetizer! Fresh made sweet and savory popcorn, mouth watering spicy pork rinds, and southern sweet tea. Take home a few containers to snack on later – you will thank us!
Delish Kebabs: You’ll smell these amazing grilled kebabs before you get to the truck! Serving up authentic and award winning Brazilian charcoal grilled kebabs, Delish Kebabs is taking simple food and making it extraordinary. Their bacon wrapped chicken was the winner of the 2014 Food Truck Wars! Don’t miss their yuca fries either.
Sweeto Burrito: It’s easy to see why Sweeto has so many dedicated followers – their burritos are some of the best in town! Be prepared to share, these are HUGE! The White Chick, Buff Chick, and Rise and Shiner are our personal recommendations!
Wrap It Up: Fresh, healthy wraps and salads with Moroccan flair. The wraps are pressed on a panini press so all the delicious vegetables and fresh meats melt perfectly together. Wrap it Up also offers great vegan options too! Order ahead on their website for pick up. The Aladdin, the Jasmine, and the Zorba wrap are all mouth watering.
Julie’s Sweet Stuff: Cupcakes, brownies, bundt cakes, cookies, and more! Julie’s Sweet Stuff covers the spectrum on treats no matter what dessert you’re craving. The freshest ingredients wait for you too and are proudly “grandkid approved” from the owner’s own taste-testers. If the chocolate peanut butter or cherry limeade cupcakes are on the menu, get a box of each. You’ll thank us later.
Seaweeds Maine Lobster Rolls: Who doesn’t love a good lobster roll? Born and raised in Maine, owners Rusty and Judy know how to create them with perfect authenticity. Served on buttery buns, the chunks of lobster meat are plentiful and filling. Whether you want a snack size or a huge meal, Seaweeds will give you your fresh lobster fix!
Latin Soul Grille: This truck’s fusion of Latin, Caribbean, Spanish, and BBQ makes for an irresistible menu. I’m in love with their chicken tacos, I truly think they’re some of my favorite in town. I could also eat their smoked wings every day! Try their speciality empanadas filled with tender chicken or pork for a real treat.
Nitrogen Creamery: Do you think ice cream is the best dessert in the world? You’ll love it even more made with nitrogen! All flavors are homemade daily using -320 degree nitrogen! The use of the nitrogen brings out the true flavors of each ice cream and make it quite a decadent treat. We’re big fans of the nutella (who isn’t?) and their cinnamon honey.
Sausage Paradise: New to the food truck scene, but no stranger to the restaurant business, Sausage Paradise has had a restaurant for a number of years on Baymeadows Road. You’ve probably enjoyed their sausages at many events over the years at RAM, Oktoberfest, and One Spark. The owners are from Europe and create hand crafted, artisanal sausages in traditional European Style. We recently fell in love with their andouille sausage, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Treemendous BBQ: Treemendous fulfills all your perfectly executed American food needs. Feeling an appetizer of fried corn nuggets or fried okra? You got it. How about tender, melt in your mouth smoked turkey? Ribs, pork, sausage? All are fall apart delicious. With all meals paired with homemade traditional sides, Treemendous is sure to please.
